The Painter

Says little, but keeps its own scale

You feel beauty and texture strongly — colour, sound, the small differences in materials all reach you, where many people are blunt to them. You don't argue; faced with something you can't endorse you go quietly. That doesn't mean you have no position — your floor is there, you just don't display it. You live in the present better than most, which is also why long-range planning can't hold your interest. You need freedom; a fully scheduled life makes you wither.

Where you move easily

What it tends to cost

At work

You need autonomy and work where the senses and aesthetics get to participate; highly regulated, metric-driven environments drain the life out of you quickly. You feel more accomplishment where the output is concrete — a made thing sitting there means more to you than a quarterly report ever will.

In relationships

You're considerate and undemanding, showing care through specific acts and small details. But you hold just as many unspoken needs, and you're counting on the other person to sense them. In friction you tend to go silent or disappear for a while, which damages a relationship more than a fight would. What you need to practise is staying in the room and saying you're uncomfortable.
