The Flask

More interested in the answer than the result

What you're actually hooked on is the act of working it out. Once a problem is opened up and understood, most of its pull is gone — which is why you're surrounded by things you solved but never finished. You're sensitive to precision; one loosely used word and you stall mid-sentence. That makes you valuable where rigour matters and obstructive where momentum matters. You don't much care what people think of you, but you care intensely whether you've actually been convinced.

Where you move easily

What it tends to cost

At work

You need the problem itself to be interesting and an environment that doesn't police your process. Heavy procedure and constant status syncs suffocate you. You pair extremely well with someone who drives and finishes — you work it out, they land it. That beats forcing yourself through the whole pipeline alone.

In relationships

You need a lot of solitude. That isn't dissatisfaction, but you rarely explain it, and it reads as distance. You show closeness by sharing what you're thinking about — when you start telling someone the complicated things nobody else follows, you already trust them. You're poor at handling someone's feelings and tend to turn comfort into analysis.
