Lead, or don't take the field
You can make a room light up, you don't flinch at standing in front, and you carry the people around you with you. You're genuinely generous with your own — your time, your money, your standing. But a good deal of your energy is supplied by the response you get: seen, you're alive; ignored, you go quiet and lose interest — and you won't admit it. You also find it very hard to take a direct contradiction, especially in front of other people.
Where you move easily
- You'll take it on and stand up; when responsibility lands on you you don't shrink back.
- Your generosity is real, not the kind performed for an audience.
- You can make an ordinary thing feel like an occasion, which makes it feel worth it to everyone around you.
What it tends to cost
- You confuse 'this was contradicted' with 'I was contradicted', so criticism doesn't get in.
- You need an audience to the point of changing your choices for the applause.
- When you'd lose face you'll keep going, knowing you're wrong, until you can admit it where nobody is watching.
